Gday from down under, Hi my name is Stuart Im a 36 year old Motor Mechanic from Bullyard Queensland Australia. I model in OO L.N.E.R and love Gresley Pacifics ,I think they would have the best looking steam locomotive ever built. But most English Locos are. Most people in Australia model in American stuff ,to me its ugly but is cheap to model in ,Locos are about a third the cost of a British Loco. The second most comon is to model in Australian , this is the most exspensive as no large companys make large amounts of models. Some Australian locos look nice mainly those that ran in the state of Victoria. The rest of us model in British ,but this a small percentage.
Over here its hard to get a lot off stuff to build a British themed Layout and hard to get info to base it on.
So over the next of many posts i will have a lot questions, i hope you can help my out.
Thank You.
Stuart Adcock.

Hi Stuart and welcome to the boards! Good to hear you're modelling the LNER and look forward to seeing how you progress with it.
The guys on here are really knowledgable so I'm sure that at least most of your questions can be answered by someone.

Welcome to the boards Stuart. I get the feeling that British modelling is more popular in Australia (and Canada) than it is here in the US!
I have to get most of my stuff directly from the UK, and I've recently formed an informal group with similar interests (all scales from N to Gauge 1 and 16mm live steam) that meets each month.

Stuart, you might also try the double-O Gauge Association in theUK
website
www.doubleogauge.com
The Association has a discussion forum with several regular Aussie members using it. Mostly followers of a Green Wet and Rusty UK company I'm afraid but could still be useful.
