Anyone who missed out on this model may be interested in this reply I have just received from the N.R.M.
Thanks for your email. We do actually have a reserve list for people still wishing to receive a Bachman Deltic locomotion. If you wish I could add your details to that list and contact you in the near future once we know how many models we have left over. Hope this finds you well.
All the best,
NRM Shop
The opportunists claimed quite a chunk of these much sought after models and they sell on E Bay for quite a tidy profit at the true modellers expense.

How do you view a true modeller? I do N Gauge, but have the Deltic on my desk, and one gone on ebay!
Oh and I have the first Stobart Deltic in 00, plus as Built Silver Fox, and Golden Eagle, plus Silver Fox in 0

I must say the model is rather splendid. I ordered mine when we went down to York for the Bittern trip before Christmas. It arrived a few weeks back. I've found a 21 pin sound chip but i'm really having problems finding suitable sounds to blow onto it. I accept all the sounds available will be from production Deltics but then who's going to know the difference?

I would view a true modeller as someone who appreciates all gauges and all avenues of his chosen theme and of others efforts,. Of course modellers sell on what does not fit into their scheme or surplus to requirements etc but folk who speculate on what they know will become sought after by certain fraternities whether it be model railways , aircraft or whatever I have no time for, one guy on E Bay was boasting he had 5 of this very limited edition and by his feedback he was not in any shape or form a railway enthusiast it was just opportunisim for a quick profit, a bit like touting cup final tickets, I am sure anyone who has missed out on a final tickets while touts have dozens feel the same way. I am 00 but well appreciate 0 and wish I could afford some 0 gauge models. I already have a customised prototype Deltic much superior to the NRM edition but I would also buy this edition also but not to sell on, it would join my other 151 locos in my display cases. The success of this NRM joint venture may well bring forth other models that the RTR manufacturers would not consider viable for large scale production and in fact they have already had a survey of what models would be popular. I myself would prefer the L.N.E.R Hush Hush but I feel this may be a little ambitious for the N.R.M. at the moment as diesels and electrics are easier to produce, I wouldent mind a class 14 teddybear tho. The downside to this is the independent manufacturers such as Silver Fox will suffer if the same models that they produce are marketed by Bachmann after a successful limited edition run for the N.R.M. Maybe a trade agreement has been reached on this issue, who knows ?.
I enjoy reading all the posts on all gauges on these forums, its a great site.

Finally got my prototype deltic sorted.... You'll have to excuse the rather loud clicking from the buttons on my controller...

Further to the opening post the NRM have contacted me to say they now have limited Bachmann Deltics available and I have been offered one of these at strictly one per customer.
Anyone still wanting a one of these needs to make an application to the NRM.
