That member should be pleased with the resultant authenticity, but at £33 per wagon, YIKES!

Double yikes, prices are getting simply daft!! . The level of detail on the underframes where it hidden could be simplified , would that lower the prices??

I wonder how many they will actually sell at r.r.p ?? How many people model the GER period ?? They are still trying to sell the GER Trams off after how many years ?? Hornby were stuck with the J15 for years as well.

How many will sell?

All of them. They will be produced against pre-orders as always.
How many will that be? Thousands.

How much would be saved through simplification of some hard to see details?

Probably very little.
A bit on the design work but that is divided over thousands of wagons - and see below.
Pennies (if that) on the polymer used.
Pennies again on the additional assembly. Good design will make the bits fit together well and very, very quickly and much of that will be transferrable from one wagon to another with perhaps some minor adjustments to dimensions but remember that many of these wagons (not just the GER ones) will be based on an RCH design (1905 for current range of opens).

Welcome to my world where quality wagons in H0 have been commanding that sort of price (40€) for a good 10years or more. Anyone interested can look at the prices from companies such as REE or LS Models producing to similar standards as Rapido.
