LNER road vehicle liveries

Post by Slanjonok »

Hi to LNER-experts!

Within my running projects of road vehicles, I have two, that might be useful for LNER-modellers. One is a Vulcan 6PF platform lorry and the other is a Walker 6t mobile crane. I would be happy about suggestions concerning painting and lettering for these vehicles in LNER-service.

The Vulcan I modelled based on GWR/BR-pictures and some drawings I found. But the railway road vehicle database:
https://www.ltsv.com/rrv/vehicle_list_all.php
indicates, that most probably in 1946 the LNER took 11 of these lorries into service. The database indicates fleet numbers VB 7300 E to VB 7311 E for BR period, so I assume, that original number could be same, just without the “E” at the end. Colour was probably LNER blue, but where and what lettering was applied?

The Walker crane I created based on drawings and pictures from LMS journal Stephen was kind to provide me. Most of these cranes were used be LMS/BR, but again a-m database indicates two cranes used by LNER with fleet numbers P 103/P104. Similar questions about painting and lettering.

If anyone has pictures of these vehicles would be a dream, but meanwhile advices are welcome. Thanks in advance.
Sascha

If nobody knows, nobody can complain that it's wrong. ;-)
This is what I made of it for the truck. Model data and decal templates are now available here:

On the crane I still have to improve a few things before finishing.
