Jim McGeown's website is finally up. This is official and replaces the old and unofficial website that many of us found in the past. Here it is:

I'm currently working on his Y7. This is my first brass kit and I'm taking my time but enjoying it. I intend to buy some of his wagons (eg. a lowmac or agricultural implements wagon). The Y6 and G5 are also tempting - both would be plausible fictions for my inspiration although the G5 might be pushing the weight limits.

cheers for the link- The pictures of completed models are actually very useful for someone building the kits- I am looking forward to building his GCR van, but am very tempted by a lomac just for the hell of it!

I notice the N7/3 Tank is not on the list. I seem to remember reading that Jim had problems with the master plates. I hope it re-appears soon.

I, like many others stumbled upon the old site a few weeks ago and contacted Jim to enquire about 4mm kits. I am just starting out in the brass kit field and wanted something cheap and cheerful before having ago at the Comet restaurant triplet set. Jim was very apologetic about having stopped production of his 4mm range but he let me have a couple of kits that he still had. They are of the grease water and rust variety but they will do to practice on. If I make a reasonable job of them they seem to fetch good money built on ebay so I should at least get some "free" practice.
