I recently aquired this model, which once upgraded a bit will prove an interestin addition to my nautical themed layout; problem is I can't locate any info on the prototype!

Nothing In Tatlow's book looks exactly correct. Anybody have any ideas./info? wheelbase is roughly 9ft.

I intend on adding finescale wheels in modern Etched D&S W-irons and ABS GNR axleboxes/ Self-contained buffers/ Ambis etched brake lever guide, etc

I am particularly wondering if the brake arrangement (1-shoe, simple lever handbrake) is accurate, underframe detail, livery (although I'd like to leave the livery alone as it has a great patina) etc.

many thanks for any assistance you may be able to lend,

WIll

Did you try Vol.1 of his new LNER wagon book?

The one shoe brake suggests an early wagon - one that might not have survived into LNER ownership...

d'oh, that's a good point, I assumed it survived to 1923. What are the standard GNR wagon books then??!! I admit I don't know much about the GNR

I don't know - Tatlow Vol.1 would have been my first place to look!

I know with the NER some of the hoppers I've been researching aren't in Tatlow Vol.2 because they didn't survive long enough.
