Hi, I am a new member and have started a EM gauge layout of the North Norfolk Railway. Does anyone know of a Alan Gibson or Nucast J15 for sale, either in kit form or ready built?
I have nearly finished a PDK B12/3 kit, has anyone any ideas on a Halfords spray that is close to LNER green?

Any replies will be appreciated, thanks John

No, but Fox Transfers supply Phoenix and Railmatch aerosols in either Doncaster or Darlington (Real  ) Green. Hope this helps, I think they are about a fiver each.

You could try the new owners of the Alan Gibson Range,Colin Seymor.Telephone 0161 678 1607 or sale@alangibsonworkshop.co.uk.
You could check the 'hosted traders' section at www.scalefour.org.
The above source from MRJ 181.
An E4 by Alan Gibson would not go amiss.
An N7/3 ?
What peroid are you modelling ?
1E Promotions have a new open wagon for release next month suitable for where you are modelling.

Thanks for suggestions. I am modelling present day, but with a bit of artistic license, for example I am putting some goods sidings in at Sheringham station.

Hi Mick
It should be 1E Promotionals at 1epromotionals.co.uk.
They specialise in 5 / 7 plank open wagon liveries of the LNER (GE region there abouts). They are limited edition models using Dapol models.
I have 8 of these PO wagons and another 7 on order.Colourful and different from the main stream RTR models.

Covert these wagons to EM using Alan Gibson EM wheel sets is easy.
Swop the wheel sets,press/squeeze the two axle boxes on the new axle and turn the wheels.
This should help the new pin points of the axles to bed in if they are tight and you should have free running wheelsets.
You cannot do this with Lima stock, you have to use 00 wheel sets and push them out to the EM back to back.A bit tight, like a ducks ass.

Are the 1E Promotions models based on a "standard" Dapol wagon?

All the Dapol PO open wagons I've seen are on steel underframe, where as "most" PO wagons should be on a wooden underframe and the wheelbase appears too long.

Paul

Yes they are based on the standard underframe so look totally wrong. I am afraid they are IMHO very poor models which is a great shame. With Dapol bringing out better quality wagons from the period (i.e. the rectangular tank) one can only hope they will improve. However, if you are happy with the compromise dont let me put you off!
