Does anyone know of a source of drawings for this GC station,

Speaking as a GCR volunteer, there is the obvious starting point of the fowler survey plans. A set are held in the museum at Loughborough and also by the local council possibly. Anyways try this to be going on with

I will ask one of our more historically minded volunteers for details of what other material may still be extant but structures were to standard designs by and large.

I think going into too much detail may be counter-productive here, but the besides Loughborough Museum and Leicester Records Office, the main repository for Great Central maps and plans is the National Archives. The Great Central Railway's general catalogue ref is RAIL 226, and as an example, plans for the London Extension are RAIL 226/55, RAIL 226/56, etc etc.

Worth a browse on their online catalogue- like all business archives you have to plough through a number of rather dull printed agreements and memoranda- but they are there!!!

The Leicester Record Office holds the Newton photographs (taken as he followed the line around during construction) and truly excellent resource they are too!

finally, most of this pre-dates the London extension, but a lot of these standard fitments were perpetuated by the newly formed GCR. http://www.swithland-signal-works.co.uk/plans/plans.htm
