Hi guys,
Further to my post on Isopon yesterday, I've found that the Gloucester Model Warehouse has bought the Ultima Models range of kits and has just released the printed coach sides from the old Cavendish kits (roofs etc to follow shortly, or so I've been told)
My experience with the Cavendish kits is limited to one Full Break but the finish is first class and for the money spent is a very respectable representation of a Gresley coach. The drawback is that there is no relief to the coach but this is hardly noticable from a viewing distance of three or four feet (plus no difficult painting of the teak effect!).
I've just ordered the sides for the Triplet Restaurant Set and am looking forward to receiving these and getting building! With the price of the current RTR coaches I'm going to use these kit to build up several rakes of teak coaches over the next couple of years.

Do they have a website?
I've looked on the GMW site but can't see anything.

I believe that the site is in the process of being updated and that all products will be available through the online shop in the next few weeks.

This is fantastic news as I have a few bits of these kits and will eventually finish them off. I still use my restaurant triplet now, there has been nothing newer to make it look outdated. Nice if we could get a beaver tail as well, ever the optimist

Just remember that the Ultima range was always 2mm Scale. If you can get some of the clear plastic coach bodies that Ultima used to do, then I do a lot of brass overlays. There's a list at

Wow I didn't know your kits were still available! Do the sides work with BH Enterprises coach bodies? Do you still do the Quad sets? (I need some of them for my N2s).
I noticed with my old Full break kit that the coach is to 2mm scale and not N gauge but love the teak finish (saves me painting them!) so I guess I can live with this to an extent... but need Quad sets!!!!

Hi
I have been to the site but am unable to fine any reference to Ultima or Cavendish LNER coach kits which is real pity because I could sure use some especially as Dapol are playing hardball with Gresley teak coaches and seem to be only prepared to sell them in 3s as book sets with B17 locos, so to get a rake I have to buy 3 of the same loco.

Give the shop a ring and they'll be able to tell you what's in stock. Andy hasn't been too well recently and therefore is behind with the website - and my order for that matter (however do get frequent updates which is nice).
