After a bit of thought another design variation on the front bogie bracket .
In the photo the width of the mounting bracket has been reduced to the same width as the Hornby chassis .
0.45mm brass wire is soldered onto the top of the bracket as shown in the picture. The surplus ends of the bracket are then cut off. The wire simply secures the bogie pivot pin within the bracket. This then allows the new resin frames to be mounted direct to the chassis giving a correct width. I have tried on radius down to 2ft 6ins without problem.

I can begin to understand the impact that the engine must have made when it emerged from Doncaster in that dark blue livery - so different, but having looked back on your earlier PDK build, handsome too.

Back to Gresley days. W1 No 10000 built using Graeme Kings resin conversion kit and Hornby A4 Falcon Body and correct Corridor tender.



Total repaint using Railmatch paint as I was not happy with trying to match Hornbys version of Garter Blue which is nothing like any other shade available that I am aware off.

Since seeing photos i have adjusted the rear of the Loco in relation to the Tender.

OOhh, they DO look good. I have never until now thought that the Great Northern rebuild was a handsome beast by any stretch of the imagination, but the dark blue livery with smoke-deflectors etc do it proud.
