Re: Atlantic's works: Portable layout update - test run troubles
Code 75 BH is certainly easier to shape and to solder compared to Code 100 FB. Maybe the height doesn’t automatically match, but I suppose the Code 100 check rail will only match the running rails if the sleeper tops or rail-clip bases on which the added check rails have to sit are at the same level as the bases that are provided for the moulded-in running rails.

Looking forward to seeing you put your erection skills to the test on Sataurday and possibly seeing Jonathans dick on it.

Whilst I'm bringing a good fleet of locos, I'm afraid that my latest Cock didn't make the final cut...

The big cocks will be there, including the one with wood. Just the Bantam staying modestly at home.

Re: Atlantic's works: Portable layout update - first "away" match
Many thanks to Jonathan and Dave for their assistance last weekend, for the pictures that Dave has posted just above, and for the account of the layout's trial on distant territory which Jonathan has already posted at viewtopic.php?p=151358#p151358
It's high time I made the effort to post my meagre two penn'orth, even if I haven't yet found the time and energy to properly un-pack and inspect the stock and accessories after their journey home.
Some of Dave's sharp images included features that tempted me to zoom in and crop. Firstly, almost a view from the top of a signal post, looking West (up) over the station area: Here's an operator's eye view of the station yard, revealing the alternative "at home" name on the reversible running-in boards: My own feeble efforts with a camera produced a couple of overall views of the layout that I can never get in the confines of home. This one with the benefit of daylight behind the camera: This one against the light but quite impossible at home so I seized the opportunity: A couple of views of the stock on hand in the fiddle yard, before a bit more thought (courtesy of the host) generated a better arrangement of the stock to suit more varied operation. El Jobbo the Merciful takes the controls... ...as Jonathan sinks to his knees to pray for successful passage of the train of empty bolsters. Clearly, there's still a lot of scenic work to do, for instance on the greenery, the station yard surfaces, the still uniformly very pale stonework on the station overbridge, a cinder path for the signalman to reach his cabin, and of course a crop of ground discs to control the shunting moves rather than expecting the viewer to imagine flags and hand signals. Extra lighting wouldn't hurt the overall effect either, along with a drape around the front to hide the legs, a nameboard, and the jury is still out on the possibility of a plain sky back-drop, from what to make one, and how best to transport and attach it.

Also in existence is a video clip of my most glamourous and long suffering supporter operating the layout, but as I have no idea of how to post it on here, her modesty will have to be preserved...

Thanks for sharing the pics - looks like everything is coming together nicely, and if everything fits in a Fiesta, that's an impressive piece of design work!

Thanks for the comment. I'm impressed by the fact that the design of the Fiesta allows so much to go in.
