More seriously (but never completely so): what a splendid collection of layouts - I had no idea that civilisation existed in such quantity north of Potters Bar and south of Berwick on Tweed.

Excuse me, I am surprised that you think there is any civilisation south of Potters Bar! But don't tell everybody about our marvellous un-crowded beaches, we don't want everybody up here. (Well, except that we do want nice polite people to come and spend money!)
Very good layouts though. Standards to work towards!
Currently working on the next Gresley A1, using a Flying Fox model as the donor once more. Couple of alterations are required to this one.
I shall be depicting 2571 'SUNSTAR' of Gateshead. She was one of the North British Built A1s. The most visible difference is the reach rod underneath the driver's side running plate is of a slightly different design to that on the Doncaster locomotives. This has been reproduced with the Brassmasters A1/A3 detailing etch.
Secondly North British locomotives had the works plate on the middle splasher, underneath the nameplate where as Doncaster builds had it on the side of the smoke box.
Photos to follow shortly.

New reach rod is in place which I will spray with Satin Black. Nameplates and works plate fixed firmly in place now. Ready now to renumber the bufferbeam and cabsides.

2571 'SUNSTAR' of Gateshead. Similar treatment as Galtee More, but tried to do some different variations.
This view shows the new reach rod to depict a North British locomotive, plus the removal of Doncaster works plate
on the smoke box as the donor loco was a Doncaster build.
This photo is purely to compare with the link below from flickr of a pre war photo of the real loco at York,
which I used as the basis for my weathering.

Did the North British plates go in the cab?
Be gentle! Returning to the hobby after more than 20 years away...

Did the North British plates go in the cab?
They were attached to the centre splasher, which I've done.
