Hi everybody,
Thanks once again for your kind words but also may I pass on my thanks again to mickb and rob for help with the painting reasearch.
In answer to a couple of the recent questions.
I haven't tested the loco on curved track yet but I calculated the amount of required sideplay on the wheels using versines. The loco should comfortably be able to take 3ft radius curves (the spec I was given). Fingers crossed this theory hasn't let me down so far.
The nameplates came from the Jackson Evans range, now obtainable from Modelmaster Decals. The works plates come as part of this set.
Cheers....Morgan

Hi J
So far so good . They were slightly oversize and i had to cut them to fit .They settled down well with a drop of Micro Set and stood up to moving about. The only other time i have used them was for some containers no problems. As to the price OUCH!!
The loco maybe a different proposition!! The Fox transfers include the Cab Windows and if you need them Washout plugs and a couple of other awkward shapes which the HMRS sheet do not cover. I may end up mixing both types. It will a while yet before i get to that problem!!

Looking good. I'm just entering the world of O (started my first kit - an NER 20 ton hopper yesterday). When I move to brass I'm going to need more tools. I definitely need a small tin snip. What do you use for bending?
I also have a resistance soldering iron I could use (haven't used it since I built my NTrak modules!) but need to stock on Carrs or a local equivalent. I've found an importer of Carrs in California who also has the Connoisseur kits (my first brass loco will be a Y7 or a Nellie).
The bigger O engines definitely have a temptation although I only have space for 8-10ft! Perhaps if I find somewhere local to run a large engine I might start on something big. I suspect I'd fall for a P2 rather than a Raven Pacific though. (A3s would be too well known - even here in the US!)
