Dear Simon,

Thank you for your email and kind words. It is good to hear that you are enjoying the challenge of modifying the GBLC models into working examples.

I am pleased to tell you that 'Butler Henderson' is scheduled to be issue No. 18, which I estimate will be around late September.

Yours sincerely,

Thanks in advance
Have you an Asda near you? The one by me has had every model so far. Maybe worth a check.

Sainsbury's have also had each issue... I suspect only one copy of each as that's all that I've seen. Some have sat on the self for quite a while only disappearing when the next issue comes out so I'm guessing they are returned... worth popping in your local to check.

Just to inquire regarding future projects...aside from tender swaps, what else can the D11 model be potentially used for? Any specific GCR classes it could be used as the basis for a model?

D10, boiler for L1 (proper original class notation, not Thompson's perversion of the classifications), possibility of the proposed Robinson mogul?

Anybody got pictures of the Deltic yet?

The L1 is the big Robinson tank?

Could it also be used for a Sam Fay or the B3s as built (or caprotti variants?) or perhaps B7s?

The tender I know is suitable for the B3s, is it suitable for any other GCR engines? I think a number of the large Robinson engines must have the same tender type?

Thanks for the info Graeme.

Wish they were doing a K1 :( Would save me the effort.

Mind you the Riddles Tank, Deltic, Type 4 and Truro will go down well in Camp Sylvian.

Despite appearances (possibly an illusion because it is short) the D10 / D11 / L1 boiler isn't fat enough for the big 4-6-0s and the O5 (8M).

Evenin' all
The closest conversion of a Director apart from a L1, is the D16. It would need 2mm off the boiler barrel and 6mm off the firebox. It would also need a new tender.

The D11 tender is suitable for the B2, B3, and B7, and close to others.

Could the smokebox and cab be re-used though? If say, the boiler were to be completely replaced. I did wonder looking at photographs on the Encyclopaedia earlier.

Thanks for the further info Graeme.

They had 5 or 6 of the Deltic Issue in WHS Stevenage Town Centre this lunchtime, It looks to be a good "model"... I was hoping to find a review probably on RMWeb before purchasing. Not sure what it is based on proportions look correct though to my glance.

My Deltic arrived this morning - it isn't a bad model considering - Here is a photo alongside my Bachmann one and you can judge for yourselves!

New location for model photos, new lighting, or new camera? Picture looks good.
