Hadn't been in the garage must this week, Dad is sorting out a permanent base for the NCE Power Pro system, so it's not really been possible to play trains.
Anyhow I decided to pose the new Scenecraft North Light Extensions that arrived, and thought I would take some photographs at the same time.

So here we have a general ground level view of 50A, with the new buildings roughly in situ. Obviously yet to be weathered, so are standing out a bit when compared to the weathered one from last week.

60520 being turned on the turntable ready for her return run to Peterborough. Gilbert will be pleased!

An unusual view I wanted to try from behind 60520 looking at whats on shed. 50As J27 stealing the limelight somewhat!
Image

Finally a more raised up view of 50A, the kind of shot I've always wanted to replicate, a large number of pacifics and smaller locos either coming, going are awaiting their next duty.

Tom, there is something uncanny about your photos. Despite the lack of ballasting etc, there is a real sense of atmosphere and realism coming through. I'm very much enjoying the photos now, I'm sure we'll all be blown away when you turn your attention away from the locos. Well done! :)

Evening Tom,

Which coaling tower model is that one again please?
Most subjects, models and techniques covered in this thread are now listed in various categories on page1

Most kind Jim. These photos were from a few weeks ago. I've not done much on the layout since then. Work has taken priority as is the way, but I must admit, when I nipped in the garage earlier....it doesn't look bad at all! ;)

Was the Townstreet one Graeme...didn't go together entirely as planned, but doesn't look too bad methinks. :)

To add on further to Jims post. This summer will see us ballasting, but before then a large Fleishmann turntable will go in the fiddle yard. Plus the yard lights and building.

I'm hoping to achieve some atmospheric night time shots! :)

Hi Tom,

The layout is really coming together and very atmospheric as stated.

I just got rid of the Bachmann LNER B1 Roedeer and bought a Hornby model, much better, the cab seems to me a little bigger or at least gives that impression, but compares well with photos.
I have been building a new control box and this takes time. I must get on with finishing my Engine Shed too.
keep it coming. I must take the camera out to the shed and do some photos too.

Most kind Mark :)

As you will see with the photos below...the B1 is a favourite of mine! ;)

Some more photos tonight. The big difference being, I'm now using my tripod for these photos, and I'm rather pleased with the results.

It might not have been the most successful of locomotives, but I do think the L1 was a handsome looking locomotive.

I know I show photos of her alot, but the B1 has to be my favourite Hornby locomotives. There will be another B class locomotive arriving in the next month or so!

Evening all, on this rather grey Bank Holiday Monday.

There has been very little updates I realise, mainly as there has been very little done.

The Procab system since operations began, has been propped up on a stool, which Dad had required. Instead of putting it back, it seemed logical to wait until Dad got round to making a box for it to rest in. Anyhow today he got it done, granted it's nothing special and somewhat rough around the edges, but it is only temporary as Tim is going to be designing a control panel for operating the points too.

While I was in the garage, I thought it was worth taking some snaps.

Hello Tom,
Very nice pictures, and it's good to hear your layout's coming along nicely. :)
Favourite has to be the picture of Lemburg, being a bit of an A3 boy myself. :P
Can't wait to see the layout all ballasted. :D

Thank you.

Still alot to do before ballasting. There are a few points that require wiring, plus the fiddle yard needs it's turntable and and the storage lines adding. Then I can start working out a timetable....thank goodness for the 1950 Working Time Table I have, it's my railway bible!

You're welcome.
Even though my layout will be an MPD like yours, it will be very different in terms of operation. No timetable, points are all operated by hand, maybe even the turntable will be hand operated.
I'm planning for my layout to have a lot of involvment in it. So to speak. :D
One quick question, what turntable does Leaman Road have at the moment?
