As for my job I work in an architects office, I try to do some in my lunch break (1hr) much to the piss taking of my work colleagues. Here is a pic of whats ging on now..as you can see I'm working on seats.
Mike, thanks for planting those ideas but I think a table lamp is as far as it will go....sorry to disappoint (I'm not insane yet).
Any way bit more progress on the seat front.
That's exactly the same way, place and time that John Edgson used to construct his very detailed locomotives, only in the 1960s there was just a large drawing board and no computers (or any plastic to melt)...

G'Day Gents
I've kept very quiet, for one very good reason, I know nothing about coaches, we pulled them around all day, we rode home on the cushions, we got off them.
As for the rest, I'm in heaven, just watching you do such a good job on something I know nothing about, congratulations

Re: Daves C & W Works
Thanks Manna.
As the seating saga is ongoing, in the back ground I've done a bit more to the D10C body. I've fixed the sink waste pipes, these are a bent U of some scrap wire from a usb cable I think. They are set at approx 4mm centres, a pure chance they are blue.
So we come to Friday night...home from work, glass of wine, as the wife is watching football I thought I would fix the dynamos...3 number in total, easy I thought. I measure the locations and marked up the underframe...horror they clashed on both sides with the bogies when turned. after checking this 3 times and getting the same answer I realised that the V hangers were in the wrong location (too far back) and to make matters worse I'd soldered them in place. Out with the soldering iron and apply heat.....I managed to get a small chisel under one corner and with the careful application of heat and pressure on the chisel it came away, as did the other one, and no melted white metal (the gods were looking down). A quick clean up and they were refixed in the correct locations this time, the pic shows were they came from by the bare brass. I had to cut the pipework down to suit and rejoined the pipes with small sleeves of the insulation from the usb cable. Only problem now the collars on the vac pipe along the solebar are now out of place and I have not been able to move them yet.

Re: Daves C & W Works
Any further work done on this build - it's quite exceptional
Re: Daves C & W Works
Unfortunately for Dave a lot of people are finding this extremely interesting and are checking for updates on a regular basis. I must have checked at least 8 times today so the lack of updates is frustrating but that is only showing how much we are looking forward to seeing this project progress. It is very rare for a topic to receive this sort of anticipation. Keep up the good work.davidwest wrote:Any further work done on this build - it's quite exceptional

Well chaps I'm gob smacked by all your kind comments and offer a grovelling apology for not posting anything for the last few days, and so not satisfying your cravings, but you can all blame my wife who took me away on a suprise break for our wedding aniversary. well I'm back now and I hope to get some modelling done this weekend.
Blackout how are your surfing skills coming on.
I must agree on one thing ...thats a daily look at Atlantics pages.

It's rather like getting your favourite magazine delivered daily! I might not watch the (usually depressing) news every day, but I do check this forum (and eBay) out without fail! My better half thinks its an addiction.Dave wrote:Well chaps I'm gob smacked by all your kind comments and offer a grovelling apology for not posting anything for the last few days, and so not satisfying your cravings, but you can all blame my wife who took me away on a suprise break for our wedding aniversary. well I'm back now and I hope to get some modelling done this weekend.
