Hi,
I'm researching the Bristol - Newcastle workings in the 1950s for my model railway. There were two services up and two down that shared stock between the Midland and North Eastern regions on alternate days. They were:
0815 Newcastle - Bristol TM (1)
0845 Bristol TM - Newcastle (1)
1020 Bristol TM - Newcastle (2)
1237 Newcastle - Bristol TM (2)
1) BTK, RB, CK, TK, BTK
2) BTK, TK, TK, TK, TK, TK, TO, RF, FK, BTK
Most of the vehicles were apparently BR Mk1s however the RB in set 1 and TO, RF combo in set two were LNER designs. Can someone suggest suitable diagrams that would be used in these workings? As a 2mm modeller would the Dapol RB be appropriate?
Many thanks in advance.
Cheers,
Alex

Re: 1950s Bristol - Newcastle Workings
I've been doing some digging and it *may* be possible to model the following diagrams easily using etched sides if they can still be obtained.
Gresley...
D27A TO
D28 TO
D186 TO
D167 Buffet
Thompson...
D330 TO
D354 RF (with Kitchen)
Are any of those coaches suitable? I think the Thompson TO/RF pair would look rather attractive in Maroon even if they're not correct for my neck of the woods!

Is anyone aware of any books or email groups where this information might be available?
