BBC main article has a library image:

But they do have a photo at York:

The front page of the A1 Steam Trust's website has already been updated with a photo taken from the top of Durham Cathedral, of the full train crossing the viaduct:

This time, the angle is such my old student digs are included!

The Mail On Sunday has contained a superb double page picture of TORNADO crossing Durham Viaduct. What a shot! It's the second time TORNADO has graced said spread.Last year they showed a shot of all the instruments etc from the footplate.Very interesting.Only good bit in the paper! :D

Ferrybridge: Was this the photo that is on the a1steam site? It is a great picture - shame the website version is only at web resolution!

no, it is closer, showing only part of the viaduct, looking almost head on.

ah, I'd heard the mail did a dps but was too busy on sunday to get chance to have a look. By the sound of it they were up on the hill to the west of the station. The a1 trust's shot from the cathedral and passing Bank Top are mine: the former being wired to the webmaster and to the train from the top of the cathedral tower.

You may find something of interest here ;)

And I'm sure that in return for a donation to Mr Allatts fighting fund larger files (up to a3) could be available.

Some of those dates are wrong on that site - 31st January 2008??

Would make sense if some of the Durham photos are produced as blowup photos as a fundraising initiative.

Same picture in the York Press yesterday, but the chances of them putting anything on line is remote!

So, I had it all planned. The diesel was comming up from Doncaster with the train to York, they were sticking Tornado on the back, and leaving York at 04:53, I set the alarm for 04:30 to go get it, and go back to bed with second alarm for 7:30 for the actual run.
Well I woke up at 5:15 and haven't slept since!
Ahh well, the sun looks to be comming up nicly, although in my mind this early, it'll be pn the other side of the line facing me!
