Re: Flying Scotsman.
They could have probably built a new A3 with the money spent on it. It'll be nice to see her back, though
Re: Flying Scotsman.
This from Ian Riley on the Works Forum earlier today http://intheworks.co.uk
..............................................
4472 successfully completed the inspections and examination with the locomotive boiler at full pressure today satisfying the boiler Insurance Company Engineering Examiners.
All the piston valves are now set and re-fitted.
However, our Staff want a day off tomorrow for some reason?
Saturday will however be day One of a very busy week!..

Re: Flying Scotsman.
But before she gets to the SVR FS will spend a bit of time on the NYMR.

At the moment I believe all seats are booked but you can still turn up and watch.
And according to the post in the Works today a first low speed move may be made on wednesday 6th.
Pressure gauges showing pressure can be seen in photos on that site.

Re: Flying Scotsman.
I didn't know where to put this announcement, so I will place it here. For all those who missed BBC 4 programme on Thursday last,
"The trains that time forgot" there is a repeat on on Wednesday 20th. BBC 4. 23:00 to midnight.
Showing the Cornish Riviera express the Flying Scotsman and the brighton belle, in then and now mode. Plenty of on board shots,
including the sumptuous luncheons served at table, and the stations pre war. Well worth a second watch!
