There's the full overhaul on http://www.watercressline.co.uk/tw/archive.htm#Bittern and some good footage of the boiler being lifted on to the frames.http://www.watercressline.co.uk/tw/pics/25a06bit.wmv It mentions on there that it is to have the second tender, but doesn't say where it came from.LNERandBR wrote:Wrong Bitterns Second Tender was Scotsman's second tender. I think they had to rebuild the water tank.Matt wrote:And the Bittern mob are making a second water carrying tender for her are they not???
And why did Bittern not work, yes it was owned by DR Tony Marchington, he sold it in 2000
And does anyone know where and in what condition Bittern was before she was sold on in 2000? as in Steam Railway 318 it shows their front cover showing the 3 A4 line up in July 1988, when Bittern was painted Silver and guised as 2509 Silver Link, but when they are rebuilding it now, and it shows 24th November 2003 the front bufferbeam cowling being trail-fitted, the Wizzard Express Headboard is just sat there, but the number on the front is stil 2509. Was Bittern Silver Link all that time?
