Ran today from Linlithgow to Aberdeen and return, made good time and was certainly moving.

Nice to see them running at a decent speed. On a heritage line 25mph is like putting a hobble on a racehorse.

Is NO. 9 still in service or retired?

My understanding is that the certificate for it to run on main lines has now expired, I haven't spoken to my pal who knows it's owner, so as of yet unsure what the future for this engine is, there's talk of a static display, but the local council turned down a plan for a railway museum.

I thought No9 was to spend some time of it's remaining boiler ticket in 2021 running on the East Lancashire Railway , It's there now.
