Signal Box colours

Post by mojo36 »

I am constructing a card kit in N gauge of the signal box at Highdyke in the late 1930 period.
I will use the Cream/Green for the structure but am undecided as to what colour the window bars and frames should be, green, cream or white.
Any advice please?
Maurice.

Officially:

Doors and window frames = Dark Brunswick Green
Window sashes = Light Stone or Deep Cream

Contemporary photographs suggest that this area of the GN preferred lighter colours that appear white in monochrome photographs, and that includes the whole of the window. If you know the colour(s) used at Grantham or elsewhere in the vicinity then go with that.

Rule 1!

Thanks for the reply, I think Rule 1 is the way to go.
