Did you see a Beyer Garratt at York?

I remember that I saw two Beyer Garratts at York in 1957 or 58 and I underlined them in my combined volume. At that time there were only four left and the last one was scrapped in in 1958. I obliterated their numbers when they were scrapped so I do not know which ones I saw. The first I saw was from Hob Moor and the second was from the tow path beside the River Ouse.
Elsewhere it is suggested that they were from Hasland Depot and bringing iron ore trains up to York for onward transfer to steel works in Co. Durham.
Has anybody any information about which of these locos came to York?
A photo would be great.

There's some info on the "Heljan Beyer-Garratt" thtread under model Railways, including my own posts concerning Garratts on iron ore trains from Northamptonshire.

I saw one at the south end of York station in early 1958 as it took the freight avoiding lines. No idea of its number or type of train it was hauling.
We were more interested in the A4's, not realising we were seeing the end of an era so to speak.

I saw my only Garratt at York one sunday afternoon after my mate and I cycled a round trip of 28 miles from Selby. It must have been around summer 1956(we were 11 at the time) and there was 47982 in the shed yard in all it's glory. In January 57 it was shedded at 18C Hasland and withdrawn in December 57.
Certainly the highlight of the trip and just about made up for the saddle sore.

In 1958, with two friends, I cycled to Selby, Doncaster and Goole in one day. Some others made bets on how far we would get, and one of them was chosen to accompany us. He had to follow us the whole way. Previously we had been to Leeds on several occasions by bike to visit the sheds.
