This one to be precise - i've seen it before in at least one book, does anyone have a higher resolution copy of it, please?

Rob,
I appreciate that it not what you asked but there is a photo in "Memories of the LNER South West Durham" book which is obviously taken at the same time as yours. It too shows 17 DLI and has been over-written. It appears to show the same train leaving the station.
