2510 is on an Up streamliner service north of Potters Bar again. It is using the spare streamliner set of 1937, with roof boards. Date 1937-8.
4491 is on the Up Flying Scotsman at the same location.
The others are taken on Langley troughs. 4482 is heading south, the last two are northbound.
4482s Scotsman set does not have a triplet Restaurant Car set in the formation.

Spot on, John. For reference for younger members, the middle to rear part of the train behind 4482 would be running alongside the up fast platform of the present Stevenage station. The photo here is as I remember the location, except that by my time the lower quadrant distants had become upper quadrant.
The old three-arch Norton Green Lane bridge, of course, is long gone, and sat about 50 yards south of the present Six Hills Way overbridge.
For football fans, the old London Road ground of then Delphian League, Stevenage Town was situated adjacent to the line on the east (right) side. Up the Stripes!
Thanks for the great photos, Neil.

Well your caption for 2510 on the site is now wrong.
The spare set is either on the Silver Jubilee or the Up West Riding. The former being most likely. I will search the records to see if I can narrow things down.
Lesley Burley's records, published in the Gresley Observer may hold the answer.

Thanks for posting these, a valuable set of photos.
4494 looks to be towing one of the 1935 steel 5-coach semi-artic sets (plus assortment of vehicles at the rear). Note the 'ordinary passenger' head code. Judging by the angle of the sun, possibly the 4.15pm from King's Cross.

I have been doing some digging in Leslie Burley's records and reading what Harris has to say in LNER Carriages, T&L version.
2510 is on the UP Silver Jubilee. The date is October 1937 when the spare set was used for three weeks on this service, from Monday 11th.
2510 appeared nine times on the Up service between 11th October and 28th October inclusive.
2510 did not work on the other streamlined trains in 1937-8.

I think the 4.15pm is probably right. I do not know which shed had the working, but it will be Grantham or Kings Cross. The loco was at Grantham in the summer of 1938 and moved to Kings Cross in May 1939. So the date will be 1938-9.
