This was my first time seeing an A4 moving under its own power so it was a real treat for me.

Yes nice shots, I especially like the night ones. Seen all the locos many times in BR service in fact Dominion of Canada was the last A4 I was pulled by in BR service. About 51 years ago!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
