I have just bought some colour slides on Ebay. Some have a sticker with "Hughes Junction" on them. It appears that they must be a commercial slide copying concern.

I have never heard of them. Does anyone know anything about them?

From the ones that I am looking, they seem to have a good selection of Eastern Region subjects.

I quite liked the Crabs (something that I cannot mention at the pub without a very lengthy explanation).
They were powerful looking locos, but were very rare in my part of Lincolnshire, although a few did manage to reach the east coast. They were more common on Cleethorpes excursions than those to Mablethorpe or Skegness.

I will scan a few of the Hughes Junction slides onto my Flickr pages, and post the links shortly.

Nice one John i didn't think some would have got the connection between 'Hughes Junction' and the Lancashire & Yorkshire Railways CM&EE George Hughes?.

Yes i liked the 'Hughes Crabs' (2-6-0 mixed traffic locos) as well plus they lasted nearly to the end of steam on B.R. in 1966 working along side other ex L.M.S. designs such as the Jubilees, Black 5s, 8Fs, Jintys and the B.R. standards.

I use to have a 00 guage Lima (Limited Edition-850 pieces only) black Crab lined out in mixed traffic livery about 20 years ago back in 1993, it looked good hauling a rake of (Lima) maroon B.R.Mk1 coaches around the layout.
