No problem :)

That's probably it for railway ventures this year, but I have a few things planned for next year to get some really special photos of certain locos.

Nice shot of the open cod's mouth. Heritage Painting did a magnificent job on Mallard: the garter blue is so much better than it was before.

Thanks for sharing Blackout. Nice work.

How do you mean there, Simon, is this a slightly different shade of Garter Blue? Not sure how that can be, though. I'm presuming that the colour must have been taken from a single verified source at some point, and would think that that would be THE shade for evermore. In these days of digital colour matching there can't be any excuse for variance. Or can there, what do I know? :?

It is indeed a very different shade of blue to that carried before.

Actually the paint when originally applied in its 80s repaint was described as "too dark" by contemporary sources. It hadn't helped that said paintwork had darkened with age.

The new coat applied is much closer to the original shade, I am told, and to be frank I believe it - the previous blue had a flatness to it, whereas there's a real depth of colour with the new paintwork.

Oh, she will be. Heritage Painting have done a terrific job: it'll last decades I would have thought, before the next "refreshment".
