A bit of a long shot this, but was there a rolling stock exhibition at Alexandra Palace in the late 1930s?

Could it just be that 4482 was available in works at Doncasterand the Plaque for 4468's July 1938 achievment was tried out temporarily to get the Nod from the "Man" himself.
Just a thought, but then dafter things have happened. Could claim it as Lateral Thinkuing, but truth is I got Tango -ed at the weekend.

I do. Page 222 of the April 1937 Magazine has the details. Exhibition started 1-3-1937. indeed Golden Eagle was doing a bit of a tour at the time.

Makes me wonder if any other main-line locos were ever seen in any other odd places around the L.N.E.R. like for example an A3 or an A4 travelling light or with a train across the Hertford-Welwyn single line branch (maybe in the dead of night) for some reason?.
Probably never happened but it's fun to think it could have?.
