Right on my doorstep! walked & cycled much of this. My late father in law was a driver at Scarborough & this was one of his diagrams. I remember him telling me about Ravenscar tunnel which at certain times of the year was a real challenge. In steam days the train would often get stuck & have to set back & take another run at it. He started at Scarborough in 1941 as a cleaner & worked his way up to driver where he was known as number one. Regular loco would be an A8 & finally DMU's, my wife as a youngster would sit right behind him telling everyone 'thats my dad driving the train' & if it wasn't too busy he would open the door for her!

Ah, yes, Ravenscar tunnel. I have vivid memories, as a small boy, of the train having to reverse and take another run at the tunnel. Happy days!
