Photos from today - the Y7 985 wasn't in operation for passenger trains owing to a problem with one of the tyres but was in plenty of use shunting around the Marley Hill Engine Shed area. Didn't see much of H Class 1310 and didn't manage a ride behind it but had an enjoyable few trips behind 'Twizell' and 'Renishaw Ironworks No 6' - although wasn't much fun stood on an open verandah carriage and getting rained on by soot and ash!
First train of the day, a coal train with 'Sir Cecil A Cochrane' and 'Twizell' on the rear
H Class 1310
North Eastern Railway carriage 256 of around 1875 - wasn't expecting wooden seats!
Platform? At Bowes Bridge, just past the turntable
Bowes Bridge turntable pit
'Renishaw Ironworks no 6' of 1919 at Sunniside
'Sir Cecil A Cochrane' at Andrews House
Superb working Meccano model of 'Puffing Billy' in it's 8 wheeler form (information for this comes from - http://www.locos-in-profile.co.uk/Early ... rly_3.html )
The 5 road shed was open for the first time since i've been visiting to I finally managed to see Harton E10 Siemens electric of 1913
North Eastern Railway 'birdcage' brake van
Hawthorn Leslie No 2 of 1911 nearing completion, a very attractive saddle tank (I don't use that term often!)
'Twizell' built by Robert Stephensons in 1891 with Y7 985
Clayton & Shuttleworth Traction Engine 'Rambler' of 1919 with 'Twizell'
985 passes by 'Twizell'
At East Tanfield was this lovely Karrier refuse lorry
'Twizell' runs round the train at East Tanfield
2ft Lister diesel on a short demonstration line at Andrews House
H Class 1310 leaves the sidings at Marley Hill
985 preparing to leave a very empty Marley Hill Engine Shed
