Tornado's current livery is quite odd. It photographs and videos awfully, always coming out a dim shade of greeny - grey for me

Yes Blackout.
I took my Dad to the Covenantors Day at Didcot last year, and the first thing that we both remarked when we saw the loco, was that the shade of green was wrong.
Whether it is a poor memory, or just years of looking at inaccurate colour reproductions of BR green locos in books and on videos, I dont know.
But if 60163 is in the correct shade of BR green then something has gone very wrong with mine and my father's eyesight.

Ay up!
I reckon it is a bit dark but then again, Bahamas was another engine I always struggled to get decent piccies of. The BR green seems very sensitive to lighting, only coming "alive" in sunlight. Thing is, Bahamas and Tornado are so highly polished that the boiler casings always look white with the shine in sunlight.
My BR green models (Clan, 2 West Countries built from kits) suffer the same problem. Follow this link:

Here's a picture of Tornado taken on Sat 30th. The pictures as the train approached certainly had a greyish cast which I attributed to the overcast conditions, but this picture depicts a more accurate colour...........

This is what I was on about (video still). It practically ruined the 'going back' clip from my 61994 cab ride video:
