Ay up!

What a pity the "coffee pot" wasn't in steam. I have seen a De Winton in steam - quite the strangest thing I've ever seen on rails!

I keep an eye on the Beamish facebook and flickr page for photos and other updates and always seem to narrowly miss the more unusual vehicles in operation - there was a 1918 tractor in operation a while ago which looked great. That said, I was taking part in an early WW1 recruitment living history event there in October a week after these photographs were taken, we were all lined up in the main street when a steam roller came chugging towards us, so we had to get out of the way sharpish to avoid re-enacting this scene from the 1905 film 'An Interesting Story' (1905)
