Hi All

I have started a collection of the named Thompson B1’s, featuring some pics that were on fotopic and some new unseen photos that were given to me. also included are photos of preserved B1 61306 Mayflower

Lovely piccies of Mayflower at Carnforth in the early days.

I've gone all misty-eyed...

61379 was the original Mayflower, shedded at Immingham for many years. While I was an engine cleaner there I spent many hours polishing her up. 61306 is a bit of an imposter.

Any info on Pallah at Grantham?

Looking at the Grantham shot - isn't that 61095 with 60017 rather than 61025?

61095 was a New England Loco at the time and I have seen shots of it before with a coal weighing tender.

Or possibly 1075.

My initial thought was that 61025 would be highly unlikely...
Rather confirmed by no reference to Pallah being seen so far south, in Springtime '57 TI's or RO's...

Picture blow-up to 'original' suggests 61075, with no discernible nameplate.

I was going by the info sent with the photos, so it seems this could well be un-named 61075 or 95, i will move the pic to the unnamed B1 collection

As a 1966 job, I cannot remember 61379 but I did see 1306 at Carnforth. Different people have different memories.

Some sort of bot, I'd suspect. We've had them on here before.

Looked up the allocation for the coal weighing tenders in "Green" 2b (page 137).

in 2/57 they were fitted as follows;

4095 - 61258 (on 10/55 to wdl)
4155 - 61095 (on 10/53 to wdl)
4200 - spare (8/53 to 5/61 then c/u)
4219 - 61140 (on 9/52 to wdl)

I think that nails the mystery B1 at Grantham as 61095. Funnily enough 61075 was also fitted with one (4200) but only between 12/51 and 3/52. After that it had a K1 type tender until wdl.
