There seems to be little mention of this area, the few photos that I have are very poor Gratispool prints the negative was as per photo - not celuloid as per Kodak, Ilford etc. So lets see if we can reach Saltburn, there must be more photos of this line about .

52A will be drooling at that pic he likes the class. I wonder why they bothered with L1s when they already had these beasties.

I've cabed the L1's afew times,especialy if the brother in law was driving,the Saltburn Redcar bit was regular,even done the same trips in Thornabys V2's on the morning "Tees Thames Express".

Yes indeed, they were lovely engines to work on easy to fire and excellent ride. They had one drawback, no exhaust injector.

Q6 sunting at Redcar, full of history this photo, the steelwork being errected is the new United Automobile bus garage, the houses behind and the goods shed (left above box van) have all since been demolished to make way for Regents walk shopping centre, also the Q6 has been cut up !

- Taken from the footbridge before it was covered over, because of those daft wires, the sister loco is now at Haverthwaite we will see 85 later at Saltburn.
