Do any of you guys have photos of Church Fenton station during steam days? Every time i go,i can't help wondering that it must have been a real sight when busy-full of steam instead of the one train we go out for nowadays!

I don't think I've seen many photos of Church Fenton, full stop. The one I've seen recently (in a Ken Hoole book I think) is of the workmen lifting the line to Wetherby. Steam era (just), but no trains. In fact you can't even see the station itself.

Welcome back and you posted one of my favourite NER classes.

Well now you mention it. I have a number of photos and other material (copies of original building drawings & track plans from 1904 etc) collected during the research I did before building my OO layout, and I have added bits and pieces in the years since. Gleaned from various sources and I think there would be copyright isues around posting them here. I do have a big series of my own photos (mostly b/w) taken around 1989/1990 before the original plaform buildings disappeared. The layout appeared at quite a number of exhibitons up until its final session at Spalding in 2008, and also featured in the RM in the late 90's. Now it (and I) are both retired and the layout has been put up for sale (I am however hanging on to the rather large amount of LNER stock needed to feed it - 4 tracks of mainline on a 'watch the trains go by' basis took about 40 trains).

I have mentioned it in reply to another query
but again try the DVD from "Fastline Films Vol 3 Civil Engineering.
There is quite a lengthy segment on the remodelling of CF North Junction in 1948

Sorry this is a bit vague, but I think there was a single or 2-part VHS series around about 10+ years ago, compiled of old official-looking B&W Signal & Telegraph Dept. training films ; - (one?) title excitingly called something like "Maintenance of Mechanical Points and Signals" :
The point being they were late LNER or early BR films, and I've a feeling a significant part of the filming was centred on CF.

I had always wondered what the LNER looked like in the flesh and there were very few colour photos around in the 80's - a model seemed the only solution and this is how it turned out (in monochrome for a better 'period' effect

I had the pleasure of seeing Bob's layout and very good it was too. Shame it's off the circuit now.

Thanks for compliments, I have put a 'retirement retrospective' gallery of the layout up on RMWeb that shows more of the layout and the stock - I must say it was a bit of a wrench closing the layout down.
