More 'not what it seems'
Who knows where these 2 pictures were taken in 1964? No prizes ( I know the answers) but I'll give the answers later if no one identifies them correctly.
Picture 1: which of the 2 engines is the stranger in the camp? Picture 2: an N2 on shed, but where?

Watto Flamingo
Picture 1- Both of them!
Picture 2-a shot in the dark-Wisbech.
Or even less likely the NNR.
(Somebody had to do something.)

Picture 1: is it Worcester? 60114 is the stranger. Sadly, she was failed and unable to work the return leg of a railtour in 1964 from South Yorkshire, Remember her hanging around for some time for repairs, before she returned home to Doncaster.

Spot on, Stembok. My picture was taken on 26 July 1964 by which time the A1 had already been there at least a week if I remember rightly.stembok wrote:Picture 1: is it Worcester? 60114 is the stranger. Re: More 'not what it seems'
I'll try & make an educated guess.
The N2 is the one which was rescued & I believe that it was withdrawn from New England.
It appears to be in a shed with a small industrial loco & does not completely fit inside. I wonder if Brotherhoods of Peterborough may have looked after it for a while. They helped with the restoration of a BR Class 5, I seem to recollect.

Re: More 'not what it seems'
Solario is getting close. It is the preserved N2 and the location is not a BR one, but it is not Brotherhoods of Peterborough.

Well done Steve. It is indeed Harworth Colliery. The knowledge base in this group is awesome.

Another one to test you. V2 on shed - which shed?
