This might help.

The roof-line of one of the houses in the original post can be seen in the third photo on the website. It helps when the photo is the correct way round.

One Question

Have any of you got personal knowledge of this station? I lived in Edmonton and knew it well

Both plaforms are to the 'south' of the line as the pictures clearly show ,esp the one that has the Granads cinema in shot with the words the correct way around

so we can discount the reversal theory or conjecture

Perhaps it helps to show the OP's photograph reversed:
Reversed GE station picture.jpg
In the reversed picture the signal does appear to be the right way round. The building directly behind the locomotive's tender looks to me like the Railway Tavern with decorative pediment seen end on. Another picture of this building and pediment can be seen here: https://i.pinimg.com/originals/06/ed/10 ... 51e4b5.jpg

Gents

Johm,, posts crossed !

First of all i am now standing in front of the cooker making a very large Umble pie.which will be consumed later

I havent photoshop prog to reverse the pic so sent it off to my mate

It was back 10 mins later together with a copious amount of egg to put on my face as well

In my defence I will say that as it was from the library ,i took it as being gospel

I shall now be onto the Council Monday to get them to put it right.

Many thanks for the help. It never occurred to me it could have been reversed. Just goes to show how initial looks and thoughts can reinforced the mind albeit wrongly!
( and i wasn't the only one to be sucked in!!!)
Case closed!!
