The scene just north of Wood Green No.1 box (that signalled the Down lines only) at a unknown date featuring a N2 working a Down Kings Cross to Hatfield local passenger service that is being 'turned in' off the Down fast line and onto the Down slow No.1 line and is running along side a LMS 'Jinty' working a Down North London Railway Broad Street to Gordon Hill local passenger service along the Down slow No.2 line.

The view standing on and between the Up Enfield line platform to the left and the Up slow line platform to the right at Wood Green station (re-named Alexandra Palace in 1982) and looking south towards Hornsey in the far distance with Wood Green Up Box No.4 in the foreground and located between the Up fast & Up slow lines and Wood Green No.1 (signalled the Down lines only) in the distant background. A Brush type 4 (latter day class 47) is seen approaching Wood Green on the Down fast line and judging by the hard to read headcode it may have been working a Cleethorpes express(?). The date is unknown but I would guess that it was sometime between 1970-72.

A special feature of Wood Green Up Box No.4 was the 'bell' that was mounted to the outside of the box just to the top right of the box door.
