The following film is a compilation of steam footage shot on Super 8mm Sound Film in the 1980s. This video opens with Sir Nigel Gresley, in Garter Blue as LNER 4498, setting Giggleswick Bank on fire during a run in November 1981.

This is probably some of my favorite footage of an A4, screaming through the countryside and leaving a trail of fire in its wake. Heads would roll if this were to happen today, not sure how BR reacted back then.
