Re: Ivatt Atlantics
I once read that the Atlantic wheel arrangement (4-4-2) when 'in motion' was the most 'aesthetically pleasing' of all the locomotive wheel arrangements to watch which maybe true because it's always been my favourite wheel arrangement even over the pacific wheel arrangement.
Also the G.N.R LARGE boilered Atlantics are my favourite pre-grouping locos.

The one of 4430 is an Up train at New Barnet, if you didn't know already.

I second that : No doubt at all.JASd17 wrote:The one of 4430 is an Up train at New Barnet, if you didn't know already.

4430 is on the Up 'Main'/ Fast ; To the left a northbound goods train is running along the Down Goods, heading for Greenwood box, and quite-possible detention there to await a margin onward up the continued climb through the double-track-only section to the north end of Potters Bar station.

4436 is on New England shed. I think 4453 is at the same location too.
