T.W.Worsdell J15 BR Service & preservation

Evening All

I have added a collection of photos featuring T.W.Worsdell J15 locomotives, in both BR & earlier service, and into preservation

Earliest photo was taken (not by me) in 1924

Thanks for posting the links to these.
That of 7849 post-1933 at least, since the cab roof has been raised and replaced by a steel sheet, possibly at the General repair during March 1935. Never allocated to the London area, so what is it doing with a pair of Quins on 4 track main line? Running-in turn perhaps?

The photo on page 52 of 'LNER Steam 1923-1948' (H C Casserley, Bradford Barton,1977) was clearly taken just a moment afterwards. The caption reads: No 7649 is here seen leisurely heading along the up main line near Brentwood with a lengthy suburban train on 15 July 1939'

In the H C Casserly photo at least, the number 7649 is clearly visible, as indeed is the fact that the engine is dual fitted - Quin-Arts were air-braked.
