it was proposed , to use Cargo Fleet station but some how it was'nt suitable , and they demolished it , also its amazing how many futty suporters a Pacer can squeeze in :mrgreen:

G'Day Gents

Tell me about it, turned up at Headingley one day with a 141 and squeezed about a 150 on, so many in fact we could'nt get more that 30mph out of it, and still left about another 150 on the platform.

You got 30mphg out of a 141? Must be near the world record.... :lol:

Still having nightmares about the Midland Railway Centre not only preserving one but running it. In public!

There's nowt wrong with a 141 in the right place.

Just that no one has yet found the right place.

BB was complaining about the ride on Sunday. I will have to take him from Stourbridge junction up and down the branch in the Parry people movers to show him ride quality.
Hi interested in the area served by 52D. also researching colliery wagonways from same area.

Someone on RMWeb had a better idea - instead of those containers at Dawlish, why didn't they sink the 141s as a breakwater?

Just a note to advise we have 2 steam tours on "the branch" this month. 22nd March its "The Esk Valley" and 29th March "The Wansbeck".

Evening!

Nice to see that these two RTC trips are a sell out!
But, for the second year running, The Wansbeck is only going as far as Crag Hall and not the originally advertised Boulby.... It was track works in Grinkle Tunnel last year. Not sure of the reason this year.
It'll be impressive the see the locomotives on the gradient up to Huntcliffe from Crag Hall, and good to see a B1 in Saltburn!!

And having mentioned Saltburn, on the morning of Friday 20th June there'll be a couple of Class 47's departing there, and calling at Middlesbrough, as they top 'n' tail the Saltburn Railtours four day excursion to Inverness. Actual timings will go on the SRT Facebook Page/website when they're available.

(There's also a few links of other local railway/industrial interest on that FB page too)
