An unidentified WD....looking much cleaner than the grubby examples that I remembered in the early 1960's!

B1----possibly 1095 which was allocated to Hitchin at the time these photographs were taken and would probably have arrived at St Neot's on the pick-up goods.

35017 'Belgian Marine' passing underneath Paxton bridge nr St. Neot's in the Up direction....28th may 1948

21 'Wild Swan' on the Up fast line. I think that the train was stationary, or moving very slowly, at the time as, judging by some of the other photographs, Mr Doncaster's camera wasn't good enough at this time to take pictures at speed.

Don't forget also that the slow speed of colour films available at that time limited things regarding exposure. Actually, fine grain black and white film was not much better!
