I'd be very grateful if anyone has any photographs of Newsham Goods Shed, surrounding yards etc., ands it's connection with the down main adjacent to Plessey Road crossing. Photo's of Plessey Road crossing would also be appreciated, as they have appeared to be few and far between.
Any help or information, would be very much appreciated.
Thanks.

Re: Newsham Goods Siding.
The only photos I've seen are on Ernie Brack's site. None of the Newsham photos in my collection show the goods shed or Newsham (Plessey Road) Crossing Box.
Re: Newsham Goods Siding.
If I remember rightly there is a photograph of Plessey Road crossing and one of its signals in North Eastern Record Volume 1 by the NERA.
Re: Newsham Goods Siding.
Thank's chaps. I'd looked through Ernie Brack's photo's, and a cd of photo's I acquired from somewhere.... To no avail.
I did eventually find a photo on Google, which 'may' be The correct Plessey Road, although it doesn't look like a NER box, which I'd imagine it would have been.
I'll try NERA, and see what I can come up with.
Thank's again...

Here's a crap photo of Plessey Road http://www.flickr.com/photos/flyeye/6132349115/ and from the comments on the photo, a signalling diagram http://www.railwaysarchive.co.uk/docume ... ey1953.pdf

Re: Newsham Goods Siding.
Thank's Pinza.
That photo is the only one I've been able to find. The track plan shows the track layout I believed to be correct, and even shows Newsham's down starter bracket. Unfortunately though, not if the siding to main signal was also on this bracket, or if it was a ground signal. The up outer home was controlled by Newsham a North, and is now Newsham's (formerly Newsham South) up outer home (N20).
Seeing Bebside's down distant, just South of Newsham's up distant brought back a few memories.....
I'll register for Britianfromabove now....

Re: Newsham Goods Siding.
The signal I referred to having seen a photo of was a short posted NER slotted post with a miniature arm so I assume it was the one which applied from the siding. It may have been omitted from the plan since it wasn't relevant to the accident?
As far as I remember from the photo Plessey Road was similar to Goswick http://www.ipernity.com/doc/pinzac55/21763779
