A friend of mine bought this photo at a car boot sale. He is an ex Nine Elms bloke who didn't sign Kings X and the north so would like to know where it was taken and who is the driver. Anyone help please? I reckon we may be at Peterborough North, but I'm really not that sure.
A topper is proper if the train's a non-stopper!

I'm sure you are right with the location hq1; on the Down Main.
The bracket signal part visible peeping out from behind the water column looks like Spital Jn. box's DM homes to me (which I think were slotted by P.North box). North's DM Home was a gallows-like structure behind the photographer, to protect the DM/UM crossover, the DM disc for which, is the one that we see the back of, between the column and the loco).
