First part of some new LNER photos previously unseen, including a B1 & A4 involved in the 1948 loco exchange trials.
But first off
60014 Silver Link on the Plant Centenarian return from Doncaster to Kings Cross in 1953, the photographer who took the pic David Taylor informs me he was a passenger on the trip

The last one;- going by the look of the background buildings and the scene somehow looking more 'open' than down at KX 'Passenger Loco', I would say this was at Top Shed ; but seeing that the caption already says that, I presume someone else has already given that answer?

Good to see those 1948 Exchanges pictures. For some unknown reason although I was well into the hobby by 1948 I can't actually recall seeing any of the test workings.
The one of 60034 with the dynamometer car at Top Shed - would it possibly be just about to set off for Camden? 60034 certainly worked the test trains on the Euston - Carlisle route, I dont know if it did any of the others. 60022 and 60033 worked some of them but both had failures, so could be 60034 was the reserve loco. 60007 the fourth double chimney A4 seems to have been overlooked - was it in works at the time? However it was the one selected for the opening of Rugby test plant.

No you are the only one to comment on the location, i put Top Shed or Kings Cross hoping someone would id the correct shed
