Re: Coaches
I think the petrol railcar above is probably one of the NER inspection vehicles i need to get a loaned book back to confirm.
Hi interested in the area served by 52D. also researching colliery wagonways from same area.
Re: Coaches
There is a photo of a Petrol Inspection car in North Eastern Record vol 2 but it is not the same one. Photo in book is of 3711I think the petrol railcar above is probably one of the NER inspection vehicles i need to get a loaned book back to confirm.
More glass, slightly different livery esp to roof colour.
Undercarriage appears very similar. Diagram 190 built Mar 1908
Re: Coaches
This is 3768(Y) which entered service in December 1923 to replace the original 3768 which was destroyed by fire in October 1921. The original was ordered by Raven in 1911 and built by the NER. Withdrawn in 1939. Check out the section "NER Petrol Inspection Cars" in the locomotive section of this encyclopedia. The photo was (I believe) taken at York.Bryan wrote:There is a photo of a Petrol Inspection car in North Eastern Record vol 2 but it is not the same one. Flagged up on the GC forum but perhaps of interest to those viewing here. I can only afford to browse but there are some great photographs in this collection:

Re: Coaches
Great shots. They are handy for us weatherers(?) in the model arena, with the sooty coach ends behind the green monster.
The coaches really do look amazing and I must get up to Sheringham to see those quads. Keep saying it must go up to Sheringham, must go up to Sheringham..........
