LNER CME photograph - help with identification

Post by JANIS »

I would like to find out the names of the people in this photograph if possible. My great uncle, Harold Oxtoby, is third from the left (front row) and I know that Arthur Peppercorn is at the back and Edward Thompson is at the front. Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to give.

I think Arthur Peppercorn is in the middle of the photo at the back, and Edward Thompson is seated front left, but I will search through the LNER Magazines and see if this photo, or a similar one, is reproduced in one of the yearly issues.

EDIT, to add that I cannot find that photo, but I suspect the people shown there are all in senior positions at Darlington Works.

H Oxtoby retired on 29th June 1946. His position on retirement was Chief Mechanical Engineer's Canteen Inspector, having previously been Chief Clerk to the CME.
John.
