The Glass Age Train

Post by Jase »

Wondering if anyone on here can help.

I'm trying to find information, and ideally pictures, of the Glass Age Train, fitted out by Pilkington Bros. in 1937. My searches have led me to finding out that it was LNER rolling stock, and that it made its way to Olympia for the 1938 Ideal Home Exhibition.

Foe those interested, here is a link to Pathe News' archived footage of its launch: http://www.britishpathe.com/video/honeymoon-express

Does anyone have any information on this at all?

Thanks

More likely GNR ore ECJS. note the clerestory roof and the oval buffers.
